I bought this item as listed shipped from Amamax, seems to be a standard configured type unit with off-the-shelf components. Not made by Sony, not sure if any of the components are even Sony brand, so the listing isn't exactly accurate in that respect. But that appears to be because it's a general listing for a product in a standard configuration available from different distributors under the Amazon sellers listing. Bottom line, the unit I got seems to work well. I've had it about 2 weeks and burned about 50 DVDs on it with no real problems. It got hung up once while analysing a source disc, but I just restarted the machine and it worked fine. Had one rejected disc, but that was probably defective media, which it indicates when the disc is rejected. Over all, this unit does exactly what I wanted, makes up to 3 duplicate DVD discs at once from one source disc, and does so with no need to do anything but insert discs, it works automatically. There are various controls available through a menu on the LCD screen, but for just making a duplicate of a disc, you probably don't need to change anything. I've only made DVDs, no CDs, although the paperwork does indicate it will copy CDs. Of course, if you have copy protection on your source disc, it probably won't work, but for non-copy protected discs, this unit is a very efficient and economical way to make copies.

Item was received quickly but is not a Sony product as advertised. Misleading advertising. However, the duplicator did work very well and services its purpose. Wonder if we paid more than it is actually worth given the false label.
